Provenance

The oak in this collection is carefully sourced from expertly managed British woodlands. Beyond standard wood certification, we know with certainty its provenance, quality and local sourcing. In tune with the National Trust’s responsible forestry practices, we minimise transportation and are locking carbon into the furniture for the long term.

Sustainability

Our Hampshire workshop uses renewable energy sources, minimising the environmental impact of production and delivery.

At the end of its life, much outdoor furniture goes into landfill, still there 100 years later. But after a long life of service, the Gaze Burvill National Trust Collection pieces will be ready to naturally biodegrade back into the soil.

B Corp certification.

We are proud to be a certified B Corp, demonstrating our commitment to social and environmental responsibility. The Life Cycle Assessment on the National Trust Seat revealed an exceptionally low environmental impact. By choosing the Gaze Burvill National Trust Collection, you’re not only investing in beautiful, durable furniture but also supporting sustainable practices that benefit both people and the planet.

“Our partnership with Gaze Burvill is a testament to our shared commitment to sustainability and heritage. By sourcing responsibly managed timber from our woodlands, we ensure the long-term health of our environment and the beauty of our natural landscapes. This collaboration allows us to bring a piece of the National Trust into your home, while also supporting local craftsmanship and reducing our carbon footprint.”

John Deakin, Head of Head of Trees and Woodlands – National Trust
