How long have you been with Gaze Burvill?

9 years, I joined in 2014!

Tell us about what you do?

I am the Steam Bending Craftsman. Turning all of our straight wood into curved components for arms and table rims.

What do you love most about your role?

The challenge of bending new bespoke components and having to tweak blanks or former to get them just right.

What is the most challenging part about your job?

Finding the right bit of timber to get my blanks from. If there are any imperfections then the bend won’t work.

What are you most proud of?

The Remembrance and Hope at Kew Gardens.  It’s big and imposing and reminds us of those who gave their lives for us.

What is something on your bucket list?

Climbing the Eiger.
