Press Day saw Rob Penn and Lord Benyon reveal our very latest addition to the Gaze Burvill family, the Amity Seat, with a celebratory carving dedicated to King Charles III. Amity gained many admirers who were pleased to learn that for each seat sold as part of a Special Edition of 100 seats, Gaze Burvill is donating £100 to Action Oak, with an enchanting oak leaf insignia carved into the seat back to mark this charity initiative.
In the afternoon we were joined by a mixologist from Gorilla Spirits who put our new Cocktail Cabinet through its paces, providing much needed refreshment for visitors on a hot Chelsea afternoon – including some very special VIP guests!
As we continue to celebrate our 30 year anniversary year, we showed our original and still very much favoured design, the Court Seat, and a special display of beautifully aged May Thrones which were ordered at our very first RHS Chelsea Flower show in 1994, and borrowed for the Show – visitors were astonished and delighted to discover the age of these much loved seats, and, as always, enchanted by just how comfortable they are to sit in!
In keeping with Will Williams’s pared back style, the display featured beautiful ‘Pierre Porcelain Gris’ with ‘Barnyard Rustic Cobbles’ from Artisans of Devizes, providing a beautifully natural finish.
